John Rau MP, Member for Enfield, is spearheading a rolling series of Industry Reviews to gather ideas for making South Australia more competitive and, in particular, for reducing red tape.
The Competitiveness Council secretariat is talking directly with representative groups, individual businesses and unions.
The Council will assess all submissions and then make recommendations to the Government for action. Evaluation will, of course, involve setting priorities based on the cost of implementation and practicality.
The first five industry sectors to be reviewed are:
Cafes & Restaurants
Motor Vehicle Retailing & Services
Building Construction
Fishing & Aquaculture
Heavy Vehicle Road Transport
In response to approaches from industry bodies, the Competitiveness Council has also agreed to review the following industries:
Wine Grape Growing & Wine Manufacturing
Metal Manufacturing
